EXTREMELY RARE,
ANTIQUE F BARKER & SON
HALLMARKED SILVER 1911
SHALLOW HUNTER POCKET COMPASS
WITH RGS DIAL

In extremely fine condition - original crystal, lid hinge and release in perfect condition, lid springs open at the press of the button and clicks nicely closed

No dents or scratches

Compass needle finds north correctly, but due to the extremely shallow design the angle that the compass is held at is critical for correct use - the automatic needle lock no longer locks the needle

This is an extremely rare, possibly unique combination of a solid silver shallow case hunter compass with the relatively sought-after "RGS" dial, Registered Design 416645 filed in London on 5 September 1903 by Francis Barker & Son, 12 Clerkenwell Road, London W.C.

Original Radium markers safely under the glass (minimum content)

Diameter, excluding protrusions 51mm
Thickness, lid closed 11mm
Weight 58g

This is an exceptionally rare, possibly unique item
