RARE, GENUINE & SMALL
ENGLISH ANTIQUE MARITIME
TELL-TALE COMPASS

This compass dates to circa 1850 and was, until recently, mounted in an old English schooner on the east coast of England

This is a genuine, small gimbals mounted tell-tale compass - when it is configured for ceiling mounting the card reads correctly from below - not as a mirror image for reading through a mirror or prism

This compass is adaptable - the original holes are in place to flip the compass to a normal gimbals steering compass for reading from above, or can be used in its present configuration as a tell-tale - conversion takes about 2 minutes

The compass and gimbals are in excellent working condition

The compass retains most of its original lacquer

The card is hand-drawn
