WW1 TRENCH ART COMPASS

Hand made from two 1916 English penny coins brazed or soldered to some coarsely threaded brass pipe

The resulting "pot" contains a compass manufactured by Houlliot in France in the late 1800s / early 1900s

This is a beautiful and tactile item, and not a modern reproduction, probably made by a regimental blacksmith

The compass is temperamental.  Sometimes it works fine, other times it needs a shake or tapping on a table to get it to swing

PRICE INCLUDES POSTAGE WORLDWIDE - Buyers are responsible for any import taxes payable in countries outside of the European Community (including the United Kingdom), but I will do all I can to minimise such taxes.
